Reasonable Care and Measures Order
Suspension Order
The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) will hold a public hearing for the regulatory appeals of the AER’s decision to issue a Reasonable Care and Measures Order and Suspension Order to AlphaBow Energy Ltd. The hearing will be held at Govier Hall, 250 – 5 Street SW, Calgary, Alberta, starting on November 27, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. The hearing will be audio webcast.
The AER issued a notice of hearing on August 16, 2023. All parties must be present to register at the start of the hearing.
Given that seating in Govier Hall is limited, members of the public must register in advance if they wish to observe the hearing in person. To register, send an email to @email by 4:00 pm on November 23, 2023. Please include the subject line “Request to Observe Proceeding 434” and provide your full name . You will be informed if you have successfully registered or if the list is full.
Description of the Proceeding
On April 21, 2023, the AER received a request for a regulatory appeal, under Part 2, Division 3 of the Responsible Energy Development Act and Part 3 of the Alberta Energy Regulator Rules of Practice (Rules of Practice), of the AER’s decision to issue a Reasonable Care and Measure Order to AlphaBow Energy Ltd. on March 30, 2023.
Subsequently, on June 9, 2023, the AER received a request for a regulatory appeal, under Part 2, Division 3 of the Responsible Energy Development Act and Part 3 of the Alberta Energy Regulator Rules of Practice (Rules of Practice), of the AER’s decision to issue a Suspension Order to AlphaBow Energy Ltd. on June 5, 2023.
The AER granted both requests for regulatory appeal on June 28, 2023.
The purpose of the hearing is to determine whether the AER should confirm, vary, suspend, or revoke its decisions to issue both Orders.
