Types of Student Positions

Summer Students
Summer students work with us for about 16 weeks (May until August). We look to fill AER positions across Alberta in many of our offices or field locations.

Co-op Students
We are proud to partner with universities, colleges, and professional development programs to help co-op students gain career-building experience in energy and mineral development with a leading regulator. Co-op students work with us for four to eight months, depending on the student’s postsecondary program requirements and our current needs.

Practicum Students
We partner with a number of professional development programs to support short-term practicums and work experience programs. If you are interested in pursuing a practicum at the AER, contact our People Services team at @email.
