Shell Canada Limited and Pieridae Alberta Production Ltd.
The public hearing process for applications to transfer from Shell Canada Limited (Shell) to Pieridae Alberta Production Ltd. (Pieridae) all of Shell’s licences and approvals for its Caroline, Waterton and Jumping Pound assets is adjourned until January 31, 2022.
The AER issued a notice of hearing on July 5, 2021, and an amended notice of hearing on July 14, 2021, which included a deadline to file a request to participate by August 3, 2021. On July 15, 2021, Shell requested an adjournment of the proceeding. Pieridae agreed to the request on July 16, 2021. The AER granted the request on July 20, 2021, and directed both companies to provide an update by September 30, 2021.
On September 28, 2021, Shell provided an update and requested an extension of the adjournment to January 31, 2022. Pieridae agreed to the extension request on September 29, 2021. The AER granted the adjournment to January 31, 2022, and directed both companies to provide an update by January 31, 2022.
Consequently, the current process continues to be suspended and all filing deadlines in the amended notice of hearing dated July 14, 2021, are no longer applicable. An updated notice of hearing, including new deadlines for filing a request to participate and to respond to such requests will be issued after the hearing panel for this proceeding receives the required status update from Shell and Pieridae.
